Frederic Chopin (1810-1849)

Polish pianist/ composer from the Romantic era. Many of his masterpieces are in small forms, yet these works convey a sense of the spirtual, profound and the refined. His music pushes the performer to reveal the expressiveness of the piano forte, exposing a hitherto bitter sweet quality.

He was highly influenced by Mozart and by his Eastern European roots.
